alistuds for rugby union

Law 4.3 of the Rugby Union Handbook states that 'The studs of a player's boot must conform to BS6366.'

15mm and 18mm ALISTUDS DO

And the new 21mm Alistud is manufactured and tested to the same safety requirements of BS6366 as the 15mm and 18mm Alistuds

To meet the stringent requirements of the British Standards Institute, Alistuds are put through a rigorous series of tests; scraped across an abrasive belt to simulate a two mile run on concrete and continuously struck by a metal striker on a balistic pendulum. After this the stud is raked across an artificial skin to check for any potential injury.

It takes a very special stud to pass these tests.

ALISTUDS DO

Players like them because they give sure grip, are longer wearing than most other studs, they don't crack or break and can always be extracted.

Ref's insist on them because they meet IRB requirements.

Alistuds have been designed in conjunction with the sports governing body, the RFU, and the British Standards Institute.
